To make Palakkad a Model Industrial City with Hi-tech and Conventional Industrial Hubs

Overall Vision

Increase Gross State Value Added (GSVA) of Palakkad from Rs.34953 crore to Rs.100000 crores (constant prices) by 2030 @ a growth rate of 11%; increase the number of people employed in private sector from the current 31500 to 100000 by 2030 at a growth rate of 12%.

Excellent connectivity by Rail, Road and Air; NH 544 passes through it and Coimbatore airport is 55KM away and Nedumbassery airport-75 Km; Industrial city Coimbatore 55 Km away for Industrial & Hardware support.

With 10 engineering colleges, 8 Polytechnics and 15 ITIs in the district and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Palakkad and with KINFRA Defence Park upcoming, Vision 2030 envisages:-

Hi-Tech Park @Kanjikode - focus on Engineering Research and Development , Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning

Develop a Biomedical Engineering hub - To transform the State into a prominent supplier of medical devices and implants

Vegetable / Mango processing hub -The hub to have a 360 degree capability starting with cold storage for raw produce, processing facilities, packaging facilities, quality control and marketing and export support.

Micro-Vertical Commercial hubs / e-Market places - Set up micro-vertical commercial hubs in specific areas prominent in respective produce. Eg: Commercial Hub for Vegetables & Coconut in Chittur / Kollengode area, Commercial Hub for cash crops and spices in Mannarkkad Area etc

Indigenous Industries - Coir, Khadi & Handloom, metal industries, textiles and handlooms, under the Kudumbasree umbrella

Ayurvedic and Cultural Tourism – several travel circuits have been identified for development
