Towards a Sustainable Palakkad District: Equitable, Environmentally sensitive and Economically vibrant
Palakkad Vision 2030 envisions road map to transform Palakkad into a vibrant modern city with Infrastructure Facilities to cater to the growth and development of Industries, Agriculture, Education and Culture, considering Environmental Friendliness and also to convince, coordinate and inspire the implementing agencies and general public to make this vision in to a reality.
The District boasts of some of the oldest schools and colleges in the State some dating as old as ………. It is home to the second biggest industrial area in the State. The rich agrarian and cultural heritage of the district is unmatchable. The district has the most unique geographical strength of being in the centre of the State, of being the major gateway to the state and of having all the major cities in South India, just hours away. Palakkad’s contribution of stalwarts in various walks of life, who have enshrined their name in the global arena are countless.
With such glorious accomplishments to its credit, the district does not deserve the rankings and ratings as below:
The district needs a major overhaul in the areas of Agriculture, Education, Industry, and Infrastructure, if Palakkad has to emerge out of the above state of affairs.
This Vision Document has been prepared by Palghat Management Association with the help of Kanjikode Industries Forum, Chamber of Commerce, ICAI, Institution of Engineers, CREDAI, Ahalia Academic Institutions and LEAD College of Management to provide a guidance to the policy makers, to the measures required for catapulting the district to the forefront of development by year 2030.
This is a wake up call for all Palakkadans. A realisation has dawned on all right thinking people, that the district needs a major overhaul in the areas of Agriculture, Education, Industry, and Infrastructure, if Palakkad has to emerge out of the above dismal state of affairs.
